Harvard Aircrafts from Tillsonburg will once again be flying over downtown Toronto as part of the Remembrance Day ceremonies.
TILLSONBURG - The Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association in Tillsonburg will be taking part in the annual Remembrance Day Ceremony in downtown Toronto.
Four of the Second World War era training aircrafts will be doing a flyby of the ceremony during the moment of silence at the cenotaph at Old City Hall. Public Relations Chair Terry Scott tells Heart FM why ithe Harvards are chosen for this honour.
"The Harvards were the advanced single engine trainer used during the British Commonwealth air training plan, in which more than a 130 000 air crew came to Canada, including Canadians to be trained on this aircraft."
After the Old City Hall tribute, the Harvards will fly over the East York Cenotaph, past the Veterans' Residence at Sunnybrook Hospital and over IBEW Local 353 on Lawrence Avenue East before returning to Tillsonburg. Scott says this is the 12th year they have done a fly-by at the Toronto ceremony and are honoured to be a part of it.
"The Canadian Aircraft Association is proud to be representing our veterans and paying tribute to them, obviously those who serve and those in continue to serve and those who continue to make the ultimate sacrifice."
