While a Tillsonburg boy undergoes multiple surgeries, the Norwich community is getting set to raise money for 10 year-old Quintin Ketchabaw, who was seriously injured at Teacup Rock in PEI with his family in early July.
NORWICH - Money is being raised at a concert and potluck for Quintin Ketchabaw, who is going through multiple surgeries.
The 10 year-old Tillsonburg boy was seriously injured at Teacup Rock in Prince Edward Island in early July. His family is currently staying with him through his surgeries. The potluck and concert will benefit the family as they care by his side.
Summer Collection Assistant at the Norwich Museum, Katrina Johnston said the whole community wants to help.
"We were driving into work one day and we saw the bottle drive that the Mosquito's baseball team was putting on for Quintin and we got really interested and wanted to know how we could help because, he's a local boy and he's part of the community."
Johnston added the proceeds will go to his family.
"They also have to stay out in Halifax with him right now. So I'm sure that there will be some sort of hotel bills and when they come back they'll probably have to pay for some physiotherapy, they might have to maybe restructure their house a bit so that he can recover better."
Bands like the Norwich District Band, Civil, Born Naked and others are set to perform.
Individual artists and bands can get involved by contacting the museum. Entrance is by donations and you are welcome to bring food for the potluck.
The concert and potluck begins on August 27th at 6:00 p.m.
