Veteran County/City councillor Sandra Talbot is running for one of two positions as a county/city councillor.
OXFORD COUNTY- Veteran councillor for the County of Oxford and Woodstock City Council, Sandra Talbot is in a three way race for two councillor positions.
Talbot names landing the Sysco Distribution Centre as one of the accomplishments, the council she has served on has achieved over the past term. As for decisions with City Council she is not proud of, Talbot believes the sale of Woodstock Hydro was not a good move for the city and did not support the decision.
As for why she is returning she said, "I decided to run again because I still feel I have something to offer to the community; experience, dedication and I think I have a good knowledge of what has happened in the past and how we need to go forward."
Talbot says she hopes to continue on her role,"One of the things we are looking at right at the moment is talking with the University of Ottawa, and if possible that will be something that will need more discussion between them and us and negotiations and that's something we have currently on the books."
Her fate will be decided on October 27th when the municipal elections get underway.
