SWPH Investigating Dog Bite in Woodstock

SWPH is looking for information about a dog that was involved in a biting incident in the Friendly City.

WOODSTOCK - A dog biting incident is under investigation by Southwestern Public Health.

It is said to have happened on Monday around 11 p.m. near the intersection of Dundas Street and Brock Street in Woodstock. The victim was bit while the dog was sitting near the curb.  The Health Agency says the dog is described as a small-sized, tan and white in colour that resembles a Shih Tzu. The animal owner is described as a Male, aged 40-60, wearing a red shirt at the time of the incident.

Southwestern Public Health is requesting the dog owner to come forward to confirm the dog's vaccination status. Knowing the status is important for potential healthcare needs for the person who was bitten.

If you are the owner or have any information that can help you can call Southwestern Public Health at 1-800-922-0096 ext. 3538 and ask to speak with a Public Health Inspector.
