Swimming lessons at the Southside Aquatic Centre have been cancelled until Thursday. The pool heater has broke leaving the water temperature a cool 75 degrees. Aquatic Supervisor Peter Johnston says that the temperature isn't suitable for small children or seniors. "The comfort zone minimum is about 80 degrees for most people, therefore we had to cancel a bunch of programs until the heater is fixed and the temperature has a chance to rise." Although the lessons are cancelled, Johnston says the pool is still open. "There are people who enjoy swimming in cool water, particularly those who like to train hard." Johnston hopes to get things working by Friday, but expect a few days for the temperature to get back to normal.
