The new Member of Parliament for Oxford County is now sworn in. Arpan Khanna had his ceremony this afternoon at 1 p.m.
UPDATE - The new Member of Parliament for Oxford County is now official.
Arpan Khanna was sworn in this afternoon at 1 p.m. and he says that he has felt accepted by many.
"I am very humbled, very, very humbled by the support and love I have received from the day of the election to now. It has been a very big blessing for me. I am just graetful for the trust Oxford residents have put in me."
Khanna was overwhelmed with the local support that was at the ceremony today and speaks to how he will fill the shoes of former MP Dave MacKenzie.
"I will be looking towards my mentors for guidance, for words of wisdom. I am a big believer that God gave me two ears to listen for a reason. I will be working with folks, I was very happy that Ernie Hardeman the MPP who has been elected for almost 30 years in Oxford County was here as well."
Khanna says that he wants to have an open door policy and that his local office will be opening on August 21st.
The office will be the old Mackenzie office on 208 Huron Street.
