County of Brant personnel, the OPP, Social Services and the Medical Officer of Health were among those participating in the training exercise earlier this month.
BRANT COUNTY - Brant County officials recently participated in an emergency training exercise in Paris.
The simulated exercise focused on a chemical tank spill on November 2nd, which included a simulated evacuation of residents, institutions and businesses.
Fire Chief Michael Seth says the exercises are designed to see progress.
"Every year, County officials practice different emergency scenarios. These exercises are our opportunity to assess what is working well and where we need to improve. To focus on building resiliency within the community means to place a greater emphasis on how the community can strengthen our capacities."
Among those participating were County of Brant personnel, the OPP, Social Services and the Medical Officer of Health were the exercise.
Emergency Management Program Manager for the County of Brant and City of Brantford, Kent Pottruff says it turned out to be successful for everyone.
"Overall, the training exercise was a success and an excellent learning opportunity for everyone involved."
