Woodstock is amongst the coldest parts in the country today. With a -26 degree windchill this afternoon, we're right down there with the -25 in Montreal, and -33 in Winnipeg. A large portion of the mid-section of Canada is in the grip of an Arctic air mass. Shelters in major cities are working to keep homeless people sheltered from the cold. Inn out of the Cold in Woodstock is open at 7 o'clock tonight for those without shelter, at Old St. Paul's Anglican Church at 723 Dundas St. Animal welfare groups are reminding people that cats should be kept indoors in the extreme cold, while dogs should only be let outside for a limited amount of time.
