WOODSTOCK - Students looking for work this summer can receive assistance through Community Employment Services.
CES is home to a student centre, where they help find jobs for people between the ages of 15-29.
One of the programs offered is the Youth Job Link.
Program Director, Julie Matheson says it is for someone that has never had a job before.
Matheson explains how the centre helps in the search for employment.
"What they need to go on to that job. It could be transportation dollars. It could be uniform or tools or clothes, in order to work at that job."
CES has hired two post-secondary students to run the youth centre.
Their job is to match the employee with the best fit.
Matheson talks about what they do to assist students.
"They are meeting with students to do their resumes, work on interview skills, match them with some jobs. We have a job board up with lots of jobs on there.`
Matheson says the new employees are beneficial to the team.
"They know exactly how tough it is out there to find a job, have nerve-racking it is. They have done it or have been doing it themselves. It is nice that youth can work with youth and support them in their job search efforts."
CES has offices throughout Oxford County, including full-time offices in Woodstock, Ingersoll, and Norwich.
Students are able to walk in at anytime for consultation.
