Streetfest will take over downtown Woodstock today and tomorrow.
WOODSTOCK - The unlikely return of Streetfest is finally here.
The event will go from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. today and 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. tomorrow. Dundas Street between Light Street and Wellington Street will be closed for all the festivities.
The Downtown Woodstock Business Improvement Area (BIA) will play host to all sorts of live performers, merchants, and vendors all aimed at helping local businesses.
The fun-for-all-ages event is run by volunteers including BIA Treasurer and local business owner Fadel Zabian. He says it was a real question mark whether Streetfest was going to happen.
"Back in January, we didn't know which way COVID was going and to hold a public event, we weren't sure if that was the right thing but we got together for the event for this weekend."
Live music will play in three different locations with the main stage at Museum Square. There is plenty of other entertainment as well as merchants and vendors who have incredible deals that are tax-free and up to 80 percent off.
For more information, you can visit the Downtown Woodstock BIA Facebook page.
Zabian stopped by the Heart FM studio on Monday and you can listen to the full interview below.
