Briefs include impaired driving charges in South Perth and Stratford respectively, an individual charged with uttering threats at Stratford General Hospital and a fatal collision in South Perth.
SOUTH PERTH - Police have charged one driver for impaired driving after police conducted a traffic stop in South Perth.
Police conducted a traffic stop July 5th after a red Hyundai was seen swerving all over the road. The driver showed signs that they had been drinking and was arrested and brought to police headquarters.
Breath samples revealed the driver was over the legal limit and was charged with the following offences:
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration
The driver is scheduled to appear in a Stratford courtroom on October 5th.

STRATFORD - Police were called to the Stratford General Emergency department over the weekend after one patient was uttering threats to a nurse.
The incident occurred just before 6:30 pm on Saturday and police arrested the 31-year-old Stratford man. They say he was aggressive when he was asked to leave, after being medically cleared, and said he was going to kill members of the nursing staff.
The man was taken to police headquarters and charged with the following:
- Uttering Threats and Breach of Probation.
The man was later released on an undertaking and he is scheduled to appear in a Stratford courtroom on October 5th.

STRATFORD - One Huron County man has been charged with impaired driving after police stopped their vehicle on Downie Street.
Police stopped the 34-year-old for speeding but they noticed the individual showed signs of impairment and was arrested.
Breath samples revealed the driver had over the legal limit of alcohol in his system to be driving a car. The driver was then charged with the following offence:
- Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol
Concentration.
An undertaking was later issued, which required the driver to be in court on October 5th.
The driver also had nearly 20 grams of cannabis that was readily available and more charges were issued under the Cannabis Control Act for Drive Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available, as well as speeding under the Highway Traffic Act.

SOUTH PERTH - One person has died following a single vehicle collision on Line 26 in South Perth.
Police were called to the scene on Saturday just after 5:00 pm when they learned the car was travelling eastbound when they lost control and went off the road, which caused it to roll several times.
The driver was ejected from the vehicle and suffered serious injuries. The driver passed away after sustaining injuries in the collision.
The passenger suffered minor injuries and was sent to hospital to be treated, before they were released.
The cause of the collision is unknown at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
