Woodstock Police are looking to identify a suspect after a bike is stolen from a Tim Hortons.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying a male suspect caught on a Tim Hortons security camera in relation to the theft of a bicycle.
Sergeant Sean Kelly confirmed that the stolen bike is a brand new 2018 Men's Blue Norco Storm 3 Mountain bike stole. It was parked on the east side of the Devonshire Ave. coffee shop, on the evening of July 3rd.
They say the man entered the business, noticed the bike, then waited for a second man to arrive before taking it. Sgt. Kelly says they are now looking for two suspects.
"Suspect number one is a white male, 18-20 years of age, thin build, wearing shorts, t-shirt, flip-flops with a backpack. The second male is also a white male, and possibly a youth, with a heavier build wearing a blue t-shirt and sunglasses."
The bike is valued at about $700. There is a video of the suspect posted on the Woodstock Police Facebook page. You can view the video here.
Kelly adds that the Woodstock Police are seeing an increase in bicycle and vehicle thefts in the summer months.
"Please be sure that if you are leaving your bike in a public setting, please make sure you lock it up; as well, make sure you lock up your vehicle. The weather is a lot more favourable and presents opportunities for thieves."
