7 performances of The Spongebob Musical will hit the stage at Theatre Woodstock, being put on by STAGES.
WOODSTOCK - STAGES is bringing Spongebob the Musical to Theatre Woodstock.
The shows will get underway tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. and will continue Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m., then Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Performances will also happen Thursday, May 29th through Saturday, May 31st, all at 7:30 p.m. The performance director, Sydney Brockway, says if you know the TV show, you will know the play.
"The show definitely takes all the characters from the cartoon and brings them to life on stage."
Julia Hobbs plays the role of Spongebob, and she explains what the play is about.
"Spongebob and his friends band together, and they're going to go climb the mountain and try to stop the eruption, but they encounter some obstacles."
Hobbs goes on to say who Spongebob is as a character.
"I would describe him as incurably optimistic, so positive, and just like a ball of sunshine."
Riley Hales plays Squidward and mentions his outlook during the show.
"So basically, all the characteristics of Spongebob, Squidward is probably the opposite."
Hobbs mentions her lines are going to be in song for most of the show, while Hales says he will have a clarinet solo in the performance.
