NORWICH TOWNSHIP - If you're looking to support a great cause and have your lawn spruced up, the Spring Yard Clean Up Fundraiser is just around the corner.
Volunteers will be stopping by homes in and around Norwich Township on Saturday April 28th, starting at 6am and wrapping up at 5pm.
Organizer Jason Stubbe says they will help with whatever lawn work needs to be done.
"We just go around to the local community and roll their lawns, rake their flower beds, trim their trees, seed their lawns, rototiller their flower gardens; whatever you need done outside."
Stubbe says they had about 80 volunteers in 2017.
"I think we did 116 lawns. That could be multiple things at different people's houses; they first come in with a sweeping crew using donated rollers and equipment from rental companies. We come in and sweep their lawns, another crew would come in and roll it and another crew would come in and aerate it."
The fundraiser has raised about $435,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society of Oxford over the years and they're hoping to add another $190,000 this year.
If you would like some extra help with your lawn work you can call 519-532-1097. If you would rather become a volunteer yourself, call 519-532-3192.
They also have sponsorship packages available. They are as follows;
Platinum Sponsorship - Donate $2,000 for every $10,000 raised
Gold Sponsorship - Donate $1,000 for every $10,000 raised
Silver Sponsorship - Donate $500 for every $10,000 raised
Bronze Sponsorship - Donate $250 for every $10,000 raised
Anyone person or business interested in sponsoring must contact Jason Stubbe before the April 18th deadline. His phone number is 519-537-1707.
