This evening Oxford Public Health is reminding residents to move your clocks ahead by one hour.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford Public Health is asking you to set your clocks and check your stocks. When you go to bed Saturday night set your clock forward one hour.
Supervisor of Emergency Management Program Dianne Marshall says you should also be checking that you have a 72 hour emergency preparedness kit ready to go.
"The three easy steps that people can take is: check that you have the supplies that you need for any type of emergency, remember to replenish them when they are out of date or items are missing. Make sure that these items are stored in an easily accessible place and in a container that is water proof."
Marshall says weather is unpredictable so regardless of the time of year you should have a 72 hour emergency kit ready to go. "With the spring just around the corner, one of the risks in our community is floods. When you are putting together your emergency kit, you want to make sure that you are prepared for that type of an emergency so you are able to evacuate your home quickly in the event of that type of flood."
A full list of items to include in the emergency kit can be found HERE.
