A full day of festivities taking place over at Southside Park for Canada's 145th Birthday. Brad Janssen with the city says there's lots to look forward to: "The live entertainment starts at 2 o'clock and will go right through until 9:30pm leading up to the fireworks. But in the middle of that we have our 'ginormous' Canada Day cake and will have a good party until the fireworks start." Speaking of the fireworks, Janssen says get ready for a better show this year. "We're hoping for the same kind of show, but even bigger and higher. These will be going 100 feet higher than last year." The fireworks start at dusk. Remember to get there early to find a spot and watch for restricted parking zones: South Street will be closed. Dover St, East Park Dr, and Victoria St will have parking only on one side of the road.
