WOODSTOCK - The Moose Family Centre is getting ready to host a Paint Nite Fundraiser, with the proceeds benefiting Southside School.
Aspiring artists will have a paint brush in one hand and drink in the other when they paint a Violet Crescent Bay this Saturday.
Jenn VanDerLinden says an experienced artist will be on hand in order to help make sure all participants leave with a painting they are proud of.
"You have to take a pledge before you start that you will love your painting and you won't say anything negative about it. If you have any questions or you need advice on how to fix something that you've done the artist or the assistant will come right over and give you some advice."
It costs $45 to register for the 19 plus event, which will run from 1:30pm to 3:30pm this Saturday March 18th.
VanDerLinden tells Heart FM how Southside will use the money they raise.
"Whatever funds are raised will be used for things in the school such as sports equipment for the yard, equipment in the gym, new mats, books for the library things like that."
The money was originally supposed to go towards the school's playground initiative. Unfortunately the Home and School Association ran into delays and they have not finalized their agreement with Thames Valley District School Board.
