The South Gate Centre expansion project is scheduled to begin this August and it should take about six months to complete.
WOODSTOCK - It's going to be a busy year for the South Gate Centre.
Marketing and Communications Manager Sarah Sheehan says the architects behind the big expansion project are just finalizing the details before construction begins later this year.
"Our parking lot is set to be expanded. It's going to change with the entrance coming off Victoria Street. The actual build itself for the building will start in August, so we are so excited about this!"
Sheehan says the expansion project should take about six months to complete.
"The plan is that we will stay in the building as long as we can. They will do the expansion, we will move into the expansion, and then start some renovations that will happen to the centre itself."
Once it's all said and done, the local seniors centre will have a new atrium area, program spaces, kitchen upgrades, and a hall that can hold up to 400 people. You can read more about the South Gate Centre expansion project online here.
