Those who donate to the Woodstock Salvation Army will be able to participate in lots of family friendly events tomorrow.
WOODSTOCK - The sixth annual Fall Food Drive is about to takeover the Century 21 Heritage House office.
Families are welcome to stop by between 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. tomorrow and drop off a non-perishable food or cash donation for the Salvation Army in Woodstock.
Michelle Kirwin is one of the seven realtors organizing the food drive this year, and she has been involved with it since day one.
"It's a nice time for the food bank to receive a donation because it's after the Thanksgiving rush when the donations were coming in pretty steadily. There's a gap from now until Christmas where they don't have high demand, so they have always been really receptive to having carloads full of food dropped off and money dropped off at this time of year."
She says there are lots of fun activities for the families who decide to stop by and donate.
"There is a colouring contest with prizes for different age categories of kids. All of the realtors will be dressed up in costume so we do encourage the kids to dress up and there is an additional little prize if they do come dressed up in their costume. They also get to pick out a pumpkin, go home, and carve it for Halloween!"
Families will be able to get their picture taken next to a balloon archway and Mrs. Sarah Face Painting will also be on site from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The Century 21 Heritage House office is located at 865 Dundas Street in Woodstock. Kirwin says they will be easy to find because they will have a 14-foot inflatable cat and a 12-foot Frankenstein on display.
