Police shot an individual during an incident in Turkey Point yesterday afternoon.
TURKEY POINT - The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has been called in to investigate a police involved shooting in Turkey Point.
The Norfolk OPP tried to stop a boater at around 2:00 p.m. yesterday, but they entered a marina in took off on foot. Officers were able to find the suspect, but police shot the individual during that interaction.
That person died as a result and no further details have been released at this time.
The SIU investigates incidents with police that result in death, serious injury, sexual assault, and/or discharge of a firearm.
