To mark World Breastfeeding Week Oxford County Public Health is hosting a trivia competition.
It's World Breastfeeding Week and Oxford County Public Health is raising awareness with some online trivia.
They have launched a breastfeeding trivia challenge on their Facebook page. You will be asked one question each day and for each right answer you will be entered into a ballot to win a basket of local cheeses. The trivia question will be posted to Facebook every day at 3 p.m. and you can enter by simply commenting with your answer.
Public Health Nurse Janice McGill says young mothers need you support when they are breastfeeding in public.
"If you see a woman breastfeeding out and about in the community, smile at her, maybe give her a thumbs up - it would be nice if women felt that they could breast feed anywhere at any time and be supported by the community around them."
McGill says a mother's milk is the best source of nourishment for babies and increasing public support can help encourage more mothers to do it.
"Certainly it has health benefits for both the mother and the baby and it has benefits for the environment because it doesn't create a lot of waste."
