It was likely an awkward drive home for several hockey families in Simcoe on Sunday afternoon.
NORFOLK COUNTY - Norfolk OPP were called out to Talbot Gardens in Simcoe after a huge brawl between parents at a hockey game.
Police say the fight broke out on Sunday afternoon just before 5:00 p.m. An estimated 30 parents took part in the melee. Things started out with some verbal attacks. The brawl happened after the hockey game had finished according to police.
Officers patrolling the area arrived on scene however the crowd of parents had dispersed prior to police arrival. There were no reports of any injuries.
One of the coaches from the teams involved reached out to Heart FM about his account of what happened. He says this story has been blown out of proportion. It was a verbal argument between a couple of parents and they were separated before any punches were thrown. According to the coach no actual fight took place inside the arena on Sunday, just a heated exchange between parents after an intense game on the ice. Several other parents have contacted us well. They say no actual fight took place, just a heated exchange after the game.
