OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford OPP and officers all across the West Region, responded to several collisions last night during the snow event.
Police responded to vehicles in ditches, collisions and at least one fatal crash in Wellington County in the Town of Erin. The fatal crash happened on Trafalgar Road near Side Road 17, around 6:30 last night. An SUV collided head on with a northbound sedan. The driver of the sedan was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the driver of the SUV suffered non life threatening injuries.
Constable Ed Sanhcuk says they are once again reminding everyone, that when you see snow, go slow.
"You are not invincible, please slow down, reduce your speed, you are eventually going to arrive at your destination, but more importantly, you are going to get home safely to your families. So when you see snow, go slow and when you see ice, think twice."
Sanchuk says they also want to remind everyone to completely clear off your vehicle of snow and ice today, before venturing out onto the roads.
