A local company based out of Princeton is starting to get some National attention for their green rooftops.
Sedum Masters specializes in providing sedum solutions for a variety of green roof applications.
The company is one of three finalists in the Scotiabank Eco Living Innovation Award
Office Manager and Graphic Designed at Sedum Master Lori Davey tells Heart FM green roofs filter out air pollutants, reduce flow of storm water run-off and cuts the cost of heating and cooling bills by more than 25 percent.
She adds having less water going into the sewers in a big deal when you look at cities the size of Toronto.
Sedum Masters is considered a pioneer in the green roof industry and has been growing green roof vegetation for the past nine years.
Davey says they were thrilled to be nominated and will be going up against Firefly Power based out of Toronto and Rainforest Automation in Vancouver B.C.
The innovation winners will be announced on June 3rd in Toronto with Arlene Dickinson from Dragon's Den fame handing out the awards.
