Oxford County has been updated on the SCOR. The South Central Ontario Region Economic Development Corporation made a presentation to County Council this week. They're seeking more funding to continue to market the region. Vice Chair of the Board, Jim Oliver says a main area of focus is drumming up new agri-business. He also outlines some of their other areas of focus. "We're also going to try and focus on alternative energy areas and resident retention and attraction. So for the next few years, those would be the key areas that SCOR will try to work on, on behalf of the 5-counties." SCOR is seeking $35,000 from the County, which they'll consider during budget deliberations in the next couple of weeks. The board has plenty of support at County Council, Tillsonburg's Mayor John Lessif Chairs the SCOR board.
