It's the last day of school and OPP have tips for the kids celebrating and the adults bracing themselves.
OXFORD COUNTY - It's the last day of school for kids in and around Oxford County.
OPP Constable Ed Sanchuk says they have some tips for the kids celebrating and the adults preparing themselves.
"You're going to see an influx of young kids riding their bikes and playing sports we want all motor vehicle operators to be aware of their surrounding at all times and expect the unexpected and for parents and caregivers to speak to their children about the importance of safely crossing the road."
Parents should also talk to their young ones about bike safety and the dangers of talking to strangers.
Sanchuk says you should have strict rules in place if you have a pool.
"Explain to your kids or to the caregiver that may be looking after your children while you are at work about the dangers associated with the pool and that no one should be in that pool unless they are supervised."
Sanchuk adds weak swimmers should also wear a life jacket.
