Scam Alert in Brant County

Brant County officials are warning the public about a scam where people are pretending to work for the County, while trying to sell filtration systems.

BRANT COUNTY - Brant County officials are warning the public about a scam happening in the community where people are pretending to work for the County. 

Several residents have complained about people showing up at their door, claiming to be County Employees. They come armed with a County of Brant Flushing notice to get inside your home and then they try to sell filtration systems. 

Fortunately, the citizens contacted OPP and the people were removed. General Manager of Operations for the County of Brant Rob Walton explains the only way a County of Brant of Employee would ask for access to your home.

"If an employee from the County of Brant requires access to a residence, there are key things to look for. Firstly, most of the time, we will call to book an appointment with you. Staff will arrive in a County-marked vehicle and provide a County of Brant identification badge. If you are unsure, please call the County office at 519-449-2451."
