Rural areas of Oxford County that never had access to high-speed Internet now have the option. 35,000 residents can now benefit from faster Internet services through the Rural Oxford Connections project. The project cost 3 million dollars and took two years of work. Execulink Telecom?s CEO Ian Stevens says there were some obstacles. "It's just a lot of sites, a lot of planning, a lot of building to do. But altogether it's been a big project, but it's come together very nicely and we're proud of it." Warden Don McKay was pleased of the projects end result as well. "It's always a success story when we can see a project go through start to finish on time, on budget and meeting the goals we desire." Rural residents shared their success story as the project came to an official completion Wednesday night.
