Norfolk OPP have some tips for drivers and motorcyclists who are planning on hitting the roads this Friday the 13th.
PORT DOVER - Friday the 13th is coming up and lots of motorcyclists are planning on dusting off their bikes and heading to Port Dover.
The annual gathering could see about 150,000 people when it's held on a nice summer day. But with rain in the forecast for this Friday, Norfolk OPP are not sure what to expect.
If you're still planning on getting the bike out, make sure you drive accordingly to the weather conditions and you're aware of your surroundings at all times.
Constable Ed Sanchuk says other motorists will also have to be cautious.
"Motor vehicle operators aren't used to seeing motorcycle operators this time of year. For all of our motor vehicle operators on our road and the general motoring public, we're asking them to please give yourself those two extra seconds to check your blind spots."
Sanchuk says they will also be on the lookout for impaired drivers.
"We want everyone to act in a mature and responsible fashion. If you are planning on drinking or having any intoxicating substances make sure you plan for a ride home or stay overnight. Do not get behind the wheel, do not get behind the handlebars and drink and drive."
There will be an increased police presence in the area.
