The final phase of the Mill Street construction project is about to begin.
WOODSTOCK - Crews are getting ready to close off a section of Mill Street for a couple of months.
Work was supposed to begin yesterday, but it has been pushed back to Thursday.
Melissa Abercrombie, the Manager of Engineering Services for Oxford County says a large stretch of the road will be unavailable.
"The part that's going to be going through a road closure for the next little bit will be on Mill Street Pember's Pass and Parkinson Road. The paving, when we do that all the way from Athlone Ave all the way north to Queen Street that will be road restrictions."
Abercrombie says you will however be able to access the services in that area if need be.
"If there are any businesses in the area that are close we will maintain access to those. When we are working between Parkinson and Pember's Pass we will maintain access to the EMS station there on Mill Street so the ambulances can still get in and out, but residents travelling through the area will have to go through the detour route."
Abercrombie says they should wrap up the paving work between Queen Street and Athlone Ave in mid October.
This is the final phase of the Mill Street construction project for 2018.
