Reuseapaloozaha will be taking place in Brownsville on April 25th and in Innerkip on May 2nd.
BROWNSVILLE - It's a chance to get rid of something you don't want, and walk away with something else.
Reuseapaloozaha will take over the Brownsville Community Centre on Saturday April 25th from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m..
You can bring old books, clothes, tools, toys and more, but organizer Bryan Smith says there is a small list of things they won't accept.
"If it is a hazardous waste, no thank you! That's paint supplies, turpentine, gasoline and all those kinds of things we don't want to see. That bag that you can put a little tag on and put out to the curb with the stuff that came out from under your kitchen sink? That shouldn't come to us either."
You also can't bring car seats, helmets, or upholstered furniture.
He also explains why you can't bring in items after 11:00 a.m..
"All of the volunteers, as we approach 11:00 a.m. or 11:30 a.m., will work to make sure that anything that is destined to a specific cause will be boxed and put in the right vehicle. The things that remain and can be used to help support other charities in the community will go to the right place for them."
If you can't make it to the event on April 25th, the Innerkip Lions Club will be hosting its own Reuseapaloozaha on Saturday, May 2nd.
You can find more information about Reuseapaloozaha online here.
Bryan Smith stopped by the Heart FM studio with Scott McKague from the Innerkip Lions Club on Monday April 6th. You can listen to the full interview below:
