The April Spring Break is officially over and remote learning will begin for students across the province today.
ONTARIO - Students will return to class on their laptops and tablets this morning.
Remote learning will be in effect indefinitely in the Province starting today. The Ford Government has not indicated when in person learning can resume, only that it will be carefully monitoring the spread of COVID-19 cases in the coming weeks.
Director of Education for the Thames Valley District School Board Mark Fisher says there is no change for students already in Elementary and Secondary Full Remote Learning.
"While in-person learning is the preferred option for our students, it is important that we follow the advice of public health experts to keep our students and communities safe from COVID-19."
Fisher says they will continue to support students and caregivers as they shift to remote learning.
"Thames Valley remains committed to providing high-quality full remote learning for all of our students. We thank our students, families, and staff for their continued patience and cooperation during these challenging times."
In-person learning will continue for students with complex special education needs who cannot be supported with full remote learning. Families will be provided with more information in the coming days. Child Care centres in schools will remain open, but before-and after-school care will not be available while schools remain closed.
