Registration is full for the 15th annual Gord Marshall Memorial Ladies Fastball Tournament.
INNERKIP - Teams from far and wide will be coming to the 15th annual Gord Marshall Memorial Ladies Fastball Tournament next month.
From July 5th to 9th ladies fastball teams will be facing off at the Innerkip Sports Field.
Media Relations Coordinator, Kyle Smith says the tournament is in legacy of Marshall, a ball player, umpire and friend.
"We're about remembering a good local man who lost his battle with cancer too early in his life and we took up the cause after a couple years of his women's team running a tournament. We kind of ran with it and its gained a life of itself."
Smith adds that all money raised from the event will go towards the Sakura House.
"There's a bunch of us in the group that have had family members use the Sakura House and its one of the best facilities throughout Ontario I think."
The tournament is now full but there is still volunteer and sponsorship opportunities available. If you are interested please call Kyle Smith at 519-276-0530 or email him at kyle.smith@ballparkradio.com
