Woodstock Recreation advisory committee is bringing the Recreation and Leisure fair back to Woodstock.
WOODSTOCK - Sunday March the 1st the Recreation and Leisure fair will be back in the Friendly City with free admission at Cowan Park, and chair of the City's Recreation Advisory Board Mark Schadenburg is hopeful that it will be another well attended event.
"It is really an event organized by the Woodstock Recreation advisory committee. We really try to fill our mandate to try to publicize all the possible activities and groups that somebody could get involved with locally."
Schadenburg explains that unlike popular belief this isn't a sporting event.
"People might think since it is the Woodstock Recreational Advisory Committee that is putting this together that it is a sporting event where it really isn't a sporting event."
"We have so many activities that are getting represented, service clubs for example the Optimist club, there is also other groups like spinners and weavers, genealogical society and historical societies."
Kids groups up to adult organizations will all be found at the Recreation and Leisure Fair with free admission offered all day. Schadenburg adds that age should not stop you from enjoying the fair.
"You might say it has been a very cold winter what kind of activities are coming up in the springtime and summertime for families to get involved with. It really is something for the whole family so whether you are looking for an activity for a 5 year old or whether you are 75 years old there is always something to get involved with locally in the City of Woodstock."
Around 50 vendors are expected.
The event runs Sunday, March 1 from 1-4 p.m at Cowan Park.
