Woodstock-Ingersoll Real Estate Board reports best October sales month in seven years.
WOODSTOCK-INGERSOLL -- It was another strong month of home sales in Woodstock and Ingersoll.
According to the Woodstock-Ingersoll District Real Estate Board, 106 units were sold in October 2014, a 13.3 percent increase from the same time last year.
In a release issued this week, Board President William Cattle said "October was a strong month for the Woodstock-Ingersoll and area housing market, with sales hitting their highest level for the month in seven years and the second highest ever."
Cattle says the average home price did drop slightly compared to 2013 coming in at $226,568 which is down 4 percent.
New listings were up 15.2 percent on a year-over-year basis with a total of 483 active residential listings on the Board's MLS System at the end of October.
The dollar value of all residential property sold last month amounted to $25.1 million, a record dollar volume for the month of October.
Sales of all property types numbered 122 units, up 17.3 percent from October 2013 will a total value of all properties coming in at $31 million, up 20.5 percent.
