Employees at CAMI and Unifor Local 88 make record donation to the United Way
INGERSOLL - Another record breaking donation from employees at CAMI and Unifor Local 88 to the United Way Campaign.
"They were able to raise -- between the hourly and salary employees, who are an incredibly generous group -- $573,855," said Executive Director Kelly Gilson.
The money will be shared amongst United Way Oxford and United Way London and Middlesex. "There's a corporate gift that comes to both United Ways on behalf of the company and then employees decide, based on where they live, the dollars go accordingly to the United Way of their choice. For us, the gift from CAMI and Unifor Local 88 annual represents anywhere from 25-30 percent of our campaign goal."
GM CAMI Assembly/Unifor Local 88 United Way Committee Co-Chair Sue McCallum says the campaign is people helping people which is something CAMI workers appreciate. "I am just very proud to be a GM Canada CAMI employee and it's a real feel good thing that we support our community that much."
