Local realtors have stepped up in a huge way for Inn Out of the Cold in Woodstock and the Ingersoll and District Inter-church in Ingersoll.
WOODSTOCK/INGERSOLL - The Woodstock-Ingersoll and District Real Estate Board was able to double their donations for the 3rd annual Realtors Conquer the Cold Drive.
All of the donations collected last month will go towards the Inn Out of the Cold in Woodstock and the Ingersoll and District Inter-church in Ingersoll. Last month they were able to collect cash and cheque donations of $3,547, 145 Tim Horton's gift cards, totalling $860, 53 McDonald's gift cards totalling $315, 158 warm hats, 249 pairs of socks, 63 warm mitts and gloves, 50 scarves and over 500 personal hygiene items.
The donations were made by local realtors at all of the WIDREB brokerages and they issued challenges with each other to help bring in more donations. President Lesley Mitchie says she is extremely proud of everyone who participated this year.
"I would also like to take the time to personally thank our REALTORS® Care Committee for all their hard work and dedication that they put towards creating such a successful and well received event every year."
Mitchie says they were blown away at the final tallies this year.
"The generosity from our REALTORS® at this time of year is amazing. We have done our Inn Out of the Cold Campaign for 10 years and revamped it to Conquer the Cold, in 2015. We saw more donations in 2017 than ever before, and I am very proud to see our donations more than double last year!"
