Blandford-Blenheim has another candidate for one of the councillor at large positions.
BLANDFORD-BLENHEIM- Longtime Blandford-Blenheim resident Randy Balzer has tossed his hat into the ring for a shot at claiming one of four councillor at large positions.
So far seven candidates are running for four councillor at large positions in the township.
Balzer has been an active member in the community in a variety of capacities.
"I've been serving on the volunteer fire department for over 10 years, I've been a project manager in construction and environmental remediation for over 11 years and I've been a business owner for over a year and a half now."
Balzer hopes to apply his experience to council.
"For safety I think it's important that our residents have access to the same level of emergency and protective services as those in larger city centers."
"For fiscal responsibility we need to understand the diversity of needs and financial burdens among our residents and ensuring we are not leaving people or families behind when we make decisions."
Balzer adds that he sees a lot of potential for economic growth in the area.
"For economic growth based on our current population base, the current subdivision developments we have ongoing right now and the thru traffic volumes in our areas I see great potential for existing and new business growth and development."
Constituents interested in contacting Balzer can seek out his contact information at this link to the Township of Blandford-Blenheim.
