The latest information on the Walker Landfill proposal, Beachville Air Quality study will be released at a special public information session.
BEACHVILLE - Residents are getting the chance to hear the latest information on the Walker Landfill proposal and the Beachville air quality study.
It's part of a special public meeting being hosted by Oxford County's Joint Municipal Coordinating Committee.
County CAO Peter Crockett says a similar presentation was made to the newly elected councils in Oxford back in early December who then asked that the information be shared with the public.
Crockett says this will offer updated information from the Beachville Air Quality meeting offered back in 2014. "That was before any of the survey work was done with the public, before any of the initial air quality work was done and actually before the work plan itself -- what we are going to do -- was actually figured out. We have reported -- as I say this cycle with council -- on where we are with that work and this is to get that updated information out to the public."
Crockett says there will be a number of experts on hand to answer questions. "Our Public Health staff is going to be there and do the presentation on the Beachville Air Quality assessment, Peter Pickfield is going to be there from the JMCC legal council, he's going to walk through the Landfill Walker stuff, both the political and senior staff side of all four municipalities will there as well as some other experts within public health."
The public information meeting is slated from 7:00 pm tonight (February 11th) at the Colombo Club in Beachville.
