Most of the new cases today are coming from hot spot regions with 667 new cases in Toronto, 317 in Peel, 125 in York Region and 100 in Halton.
ONTARIO - The Province of Ontario has confirmed 1,670 new cases of COVID-19 this morning, bringing the total number of cases in the Province to 275,330. The daily positivity rate today was 2.5%.
The Province also announced 45 new COVID-19 related deaths bringing the total to 6,438. Another 2,223 cases have been labelled resolved, bringing the total number of resolved cases to 253,170. The Province has confirmed 3 new cases of the UK variant of COVID-19, bringing the total to 155 and 1 case of the South African variant.
The province completed 62,710 tests yesterday. We currently have 1,043 COVID-19 patients in the hospital with 325 people in the ICU and 225 in the ICU on a ventilator.
