The daily COVID-19 case numbers in Ontario are up again with 1,508 new cases confirmed this morning and 1,488 recoveries.
ONTARIO - The Province of Ontario has confirmed 1,508 new cases of COVID-19 this morning, bringing the total number of cases in the Province to 321,956.
The Province confirmed another 15 COVID-19 related deaths this morning, bringing the total in Ontario to 7,187. Another 1,488 cases have been labelled resolved, bringing the total number of resolved cases to 302,257. The Province also confirmed 5 new variant cases today, this means we now have a total of 1,133 cases of the variant that was first discovered in the U.K, 47 of the variant first discovered in South Africa and 34 that was first discovered in Brazil.
The province completed 49,128 tests yesterday. We currently have 741 COVID-19 patients in the hospital with 300 people in the ICU and 190 in the ICU on a ventilator. Over half of the new cases today are coming from three regions with 542 new cases in Toronto, 253 in Peel and 107 in York Region.
