The positivity rate today is 1.9% after the Province confirmed 1,054 new cases after completing 54,852 tests yesterday.
ONTARIO - The Province of Ontario has confirmed 1,054 new cases of COVID-19 this morning, bringing the total number of cases in the Province to 296,173. The positivity rate today is 1.9%.
Ontario is also reporting 9 new deaths today related to COVID-19, bringing the total number of deaths in the Province to 6,893. Another 1,291 cases have been labelled resolved, bringing the total number of resolved cases to 279,230. Ontario confirmed 5 new cases of the COVID-19 variant that originated in the UK, bringing the total number to 395.
The province completed 54,852 tests yesterday. We currently have 675 COVID-19 patients in the hospital with 287 people in the ICU and 182 in the ICU on a ventilator. Most of the new cases are once again coming from hot spot regions with 363 new cases in Toronto, 186 in Peel and 94 in York Region.
