Shutting down the theft of high end SUV's and trucks. That's the goal of "Project Shutdown", a multi jurisdictional police task force. Woodstock Police are in on the project, along with Six Nations Police, Halton, Brantford, Hamilton and the OPP. The task force made a big bust after following a hot vehicle from Ancaster to Oshweken on Wednesday. Police ended up arresting one person and recovering seven stolen SUV's. Woodstock Deputy Police Chief Daryl Longworth says those vehicles are being targeted because the rims, air bags and other parts can be sold after market. Those kinds of vehicles have been targeted in parking lots in Woodstock near the 401.
