Multiple Police Units were involved in Project Sapphire, which was cracking down on the trafficking of cocaine in multiple municipalities.
STRATFORD/WOODSTOCK/LONDON - Project Sapphire has gotten illegal drugs off the street.
The project was started by the Stratford Police Service's Street Crime Unit in partnership with the Criminal Intelligence Service Ontario, and it was investigating the trafficking of cocaine in Stratford and surrounding municipalities.
It got underway in December of last year, with warrants being executed in St. Mary's, Woodstock and London. Many different Police Units were involved in the execution of the warrants, which were: the Stratford Police Service and Woodstock Police Service Street Crime Units, along with members of the Stratford Police Service Emergency Response Unit, London Police Service Emergency Response Unit, and Uniform members.
The search warrants executed in December 2025 resulted in a 37-year-old male being charged with two counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, and a 52-year-old female was also charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.
Project Sapphire concluded this month, with three more warrants being executed, two in London and one in Stratford. The Stratford Police Service Uniform Division, Woodstock Police Service SCU, Woodstock Police Emergency Response Unit, London Police Emergency Response Unit, London Police MSU, and London Police Uniform Division were involved in the execution of the warrants.
As a result of the warrants this month, a 33-year-old male and a 29-year-old female were charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. A 32-year-old male was charged with 12 counts of Trafficking and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. A 48-year-old male was charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and weapons offences. There is also a warrant being sought for a 30-year-old male who will be charged with four counts of Trafficking and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.
The Startford Police Service sends out a thank you to the Woodstock Police Service, the London Police Service, the Guelph Police Service, and the CISO for their assistance during this investigation.
