Prime Minister Justin Trudeau paid a visit to David Hilderley's Liberal campaign office in Woodstock today.
WOODSTOCK - It was an exciting day in downtown Woodstock with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stopping by for a visit.
He made an appearance at the Liberal campaign office on Dundas Street this afternoon.
While addressing the crowd, he talked about how he spent the entire day in Southwestern Ontario.
"I just had lunch down in St. Thomas where we were talking about that great Volkswagen investment coming in that's going to make a huge difference. I was in Ingersoll with the GM announcement and here in Woodstock with the Toyota announcements. There are lots of things to do to prepare and build the strong economy of the future."
During his speech, Trudeau also addressed the protesters gathered outside.
"Take a look at the flag out there and listen to the shouting out there. That kind of anger doesn't create a single job, it doesn't help one small business open up and it doesn't help anyone solve the challenges of building a better future for our next generations. It's easy to mobilize people around anger, but it is only worthwhile to mobilize people around hope and hard work."
Trudeau announced his support for David Hilderley in the upcoming byelection for Oxford.
Hilderley is running for the Liberals and we know of five other candidates running against him at this time; Arpan Khanna for the Conservative Party, Cody Groat for the NDP, Wendy Martin for the PPC, Cherlye Baker for the Green Party, and John Markus for the Christian Heritage Party.
