The theft or vandalism of Pride flags will not be tolerated by the Oxford OPP.
OXFORD COUNTY - The Oxford OPP has a message for everyone ahead of Pride Month.
It says the theft or vandalism of Pride and Progress flags will not be tolerated and anyone who engages in a criminal act against an identifiable group could face criminal and hate-motivated crime charges.
The OPP is encouraging everyone to take part in Pride Month events this year, so we can celebrate the victories of advancing equity and equality for every member of the community.
The Oxford detachment is committed to ensuring public safety while keeping the peace. It also respects everyone's right to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly.
Officers will be attending all of the Pride flag raisings in Oxford County today to show their support for Oxford County Pride and the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
