UPDATE: The Canadian Union of Public Employees has announced that it will collapse its protest sites.
It says its education workers will return to schools tomorrow.

QUEENS PARK - The Ford Government is willing to rescind the Keeping Students in Class Act if the Canadian Union of Public Employees calls off the education worker strike and returns to the bargaining table.
Premier Doug Ford made the announcement during a press conference this morning. This government passed the bill last week in order to force a contract on the 55,000 education workers and prevent them from striking, but they still hit the picket lines on Friday. The province also used the notwithstanding clause in order to protect the bill against constitutional challenges.
The Ontario Labour Relations Board has yet to determine the legality of the CUPE strike, but the union has stated that the strike will continue either way.
The contract under the Keeping Students in Class Act includes a 2.5 percent salary increase for education workers making less than $43,000 annually and a 1.5 percent salary increase for everyone else.
The union was calling for annual increases of 11.7 percent to keep up with inflation. It introduced a counter-offer last week, but the province stated that it would only consider the offer if CUPE called off the strike.
We're still waiting to hear the union's official response to Premier Ford's offer and we will update this story once that information becomes available.
