UPDATE: Power has been restored in Blandford-Blenheim township. It appears Sandy's wrath hasn't been all that damaging in Oxford County. There are no reports of widespread damage, but there are a number of small power outages. Hydro One is working to restore a number of small power outages out in rural areas of the County. The largest outage is affecting 2100 customers in Blandford-Blenheim township. However, Blenheim District Public School has power and classes are underway this morning. The same can't be said in Norwich, where there are 800 customers without power in three separate areas. As a result, Emily Stowe Public School is closed for the day. There are also 100 customers out in the Lakeside area. Hickson Public school is the other Oxford County school closed for the day, as they are without power. Hydro One is listing an estimated restoration time of 6PM in all cases. Keep tuned to Heart FM for updates throughout the day.
