"There is nothing at this point that suggests a tornado touched down, however we cannot eliminate that possibility."
THAMESFORD - Environment Canada and a team from Western University were called out to a farm near Thamesford to investigate a possible tornado.
Meteorologist with Environment Canada Peter Kimbell tells Heart FM they called in the team from Western University to investigate after getting several damage reports from the Thunderstorm on Tuesday afternoon.
"A roof ripped off a barn, there were also some hydro poles that were down in the area, so we didn't go ourselves but we had colleagues from the University of Western who did go and investigate. Now we didn't come up with a definitive conclusion yet, but there is nothing at this point that suggests a tornado touched down, however we cannot eliminate that possibility."
It is unusual for a tornado to touch down this early in the season, however it did happen last year on March 16th where an EF-1 touched down in Clifford.
