Norfolk OPP are investigating after a pet owner discovered a possible plot to kill their dog.
The pet owner was walking their family dog on their property in Townsend when the dog picked up something from the grass. Immediately the owner removed the item, which turned out to be a pepperoni stick. Upon further examination the pepperoni was filled with poison. Police believe somebody tossed the poison pepperoni stick on their property on purpose.
The family dog did not consume the product and appears to be in good health.
Police are continuing to investigate and are seeking the public's assistance with this investigation. If anyone has any information they are being asked to contact the Norfolk County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
